The Gimp - Concept
-
This e-card project was created to celebrate mother’s day. I replaced traditional roses by sweet pepper, which was our logo and signature.
The “flowers” were modeled in 3d unsing Blender. The blurry finish was done using The Gimp’s post-processing features.
This was probably one of our most successful communication campaigns.

The Gimp - Concept

This is obviously a parody of the movie “Signs”, in which I replaced the UFO marks by the shape of the cusomer’s logo.
What made this piece a challenge was the corn field. I used PovRay’s scripting language to create a macro function that would be used to create every one of the thousands plants. Took 20 hours to compute and render on one of the fastest computers of the time…

- This animation sketch was meant as a demo for an opening sequence to an institutional video which was ordered by the customer. We worked on this with a professional movie company and we mainly focused on the strategy and on some design aspects.

It features the character which was this company’s mascot at the time: A cartoon waiter. The idea was to fake the well known human evolution charts to blend an ape and the character.
The background is red and white, according to the company’s official colors.
